Paintings

For the last several years, I have explored the convergence of spirituality, science and culture. My paintings could be characterized as conceptual rebus puzzles, where seemingly disparate visual elements are drawn together to elucidate one or several abstract concepts.

I count many artists among my major influences, most notably James Rosenquist, Jerome Witkin and David Sallee (for this body of work, anyway). Unlike these painters, who ardently deny a specific narrative or agenda to their work, I strive to infuse my paintings with strong conceptual underpinnings, that are revealed as the imagery is explored and considered.
